What's the deal in this joint?

Whether you are younger or older, joints play a critical role in an athlete's life. How flexible, resilient, and persistent are you? Are you pain free? Do you ache? Joints play a major role in athletic performance. They attach to ligaments and muscles. When working properly, they allow us to stop, start, pivot, change direction, and countless other activities required in sports.

As we age, our body produces fewer fluids that support joint health. Recently, science has determined that Glucosamine, and Hyaluronic Acid are critical in optimal joint performance & health.

According to the Mayo Clinic, "
Glucosamine is a natural compound that is found in healthy cartilage. Glucosamine sulfate is a normal constituent of glycoaminoglycans in cartilage matrix and synovial fluid.
Available evidence from randomized controlled trials supports the use of glucosamine sulfate in the treatment of osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee. It is believed that the sulfate moiety provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis." Mayo Clinic says of Hyaluronic Acid, that it "is similar to a substance that occurs naturally in the joints. It works by acting like a lubricant and shock absorber in the joints and helps the joints to work properly."

The very best way we've found to promote joint health is Prime Joint Support Formula by Isotonix found exclusively on www.shop.com/oobnyc. This product works so well that Scotty Pippen endorses and uses it. People tell him all the time he still looks like he can compete on the professional level.

My personal experience with this supplement is eliminating persistent joint pain in my metatarsal & big toe joints. That pain has since gone away and I can play more minutes for my basketball team (NYC Gay Basketball League) and have more fun doing it.

Reserve a Who? The Scoop on Resveratrol

How would you like to take a supplement that makes your skin look young and vibrant, gives you extra energy, and keeps fat from storing in your body all at the same time? This is no drug and no joke. I am talking about Resveratrol, of course

Seriously, resveratrol is a natural component of red wine and a powerful antioxidant. It also increases insulin sensitivity. Insulin insensitivity is a crucial marker for diabetes, and is also a marker for heart disease, weight gain, obesity, cancer, and on the list goes. An ailing person who can improve their insulin sensitivity is likely to see a major shift in their health.

Meredith Hawkins, MD, professor of medicine and director of the Global Diabetes Initiative at Einstein, administered a significant dose of resveratrol to overweight adults with insulin resistance. She reportedly found a 40% increase to insulin sensitivity in muscle and fat cells, a significant improvement to glucose tolerance, but no effect on liver cells’ insulin receptivity. That’s not diabetes prevention, but it is an exciting find and a fabulous start.

Fast forward a little over a half decade. Many scientists already observed that administering resveratrol appeared to block “adipogenesis,” i.e. the formation of fat. Along come the findings of Kee-Hong Kim, researcher and assistant professor of food science at Purdue University. He looked a little closer at the process and found resveratrol converts to another substance called piceatannol when in the body.

Before becoming official mature fat or “adipose” cells, potential lipids loiter for about 10 days as “pre” adipocytes. These pre adipocytes are just waiting for insulin to come along and bind to the insulin receptor on their outer surface, propelling them forth into the fat storage process (“adipo-genesis”).

Not if piceatannol can help it. Piceattanol has the curious habit of pretending to be insulin and getting away with it! The chemical compound will march right up to the baby wanna-be fat cells and bind to their insulin receptor, thus blocking insulin from interacting with the preadipocytes. As Kim said, “In the presence of piceatannol, you can see delay or complete inhibition of adipogenesis.”

The best and most bioavailable form of Resveratrol I’ve found is Isotonix Resveratrol. After almost 3 months of using it, I sleep better, my skin looks years younger and cleaner. My body resists gaining fat and I stay lean with less working out. I have even noticed little to no difference in my bodyfat content when I just have to have the occasional late night cookie, piece or pie or cake. You can find and purchase this product exclusively at www.shop.com/oobnyc. Doing so will support your health, youthfulness, and most importantly make a donation to your favorite gay sports not for profit, Out of Bounds NYC.

Secret What? The Secret to Staying Young

If you have trouble sleeping and/or difficulty waking up fully refreshed - it could be your age that is causing it. As we age our pituitary gland ages too - making it less effective at its job: KEEPING YOU FEELING YOUNG and vibrant! The pituitary gland is located at the base of your hypothalamus. It is the size of a pea but it is of huge importance in your bodily function - including sleep, weight loss and work out recovery.
The pituitary gland actually releases 9 different hormones that support you in many functions:
  • Human Growth Hormone
  • Blood Pressure
  • Sexual Function
  • Breast Milk
  • Thyroid Gland
  • Conversion of Food to Energy
  • Water Regulation
  • Temperature Regulation
  • Pain Relief
The Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is what keeps you feeling and looking young. Unfortunately, while your HGH glands don't get smaller as you get older - they do get more lazy. Unfortunately, there is no magic pill or potion to increase your HGH. However, you can support your pituitary gland to keep HGH glands producing at optimal levels with certain amino acids and nutrients, such as L-Glutamine, L-Arginine, L-Lysine, Glycine and Colosotrum.

I have been taking Ultra Prime Secretagogue which can be found exclusively at www.shop.com/oobnyc. It contains Folic Acid, Magnesium, Amino acids (Arginine Aspartate, Glycine, L-Arginine, L-Glutamine, L-Lysine, and Taurine), Colostrum, and RNA/DNA from Brewer’s yeast.

Ultra Prime Secretagogue works with your body naturally to enhance the pituitary gland’s ability to release HGH (Human Growth Hormone). HGH helps influence the growth of cells that naturally decline as you age.  This results in increased lean body mass, a stronger immune system, anti aging, and increased sexual vitality. As my friend, Regina says, EY OOH.

I’ve noticed all the aforementioned results. Particularly, I just completed a work assignment where I was working consecutive 14 hour days and averaging 4 hours of sleep per night. Every night before I went to bed I would take my dose of Ultra Prime Secretagogue. When I woke up, I actually felt like I slept a full 8 hours. I was rejuvenated and energized throughout my next 14 hours. That was the ultimate test for me of this product.

Now you have access to improve your overall health while supporting an organization that matters to you.

BCAAs - The What, Why and How

BCAAs refer to Branch Chain Amino Acids. They are 3: Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine.
These are the most important of the 9 essential amino acids to repair and build muscle (by
essential I mean, what the body does not synthesize on its own, rather it is derived from
food or supplementation).
When taken before and after your workouts, branch chains can provide your body with
fuel and help kick start protein synthesis in your muscle for faster recovery. Faster
recover means faster results. If you’re a hard training athlete, BCAAs may help enhance
sports performance, reduce muscle breakdown, and support weight loss. In addition to the
aforementioned, vegetarians or those with food allergies or food intolerances can benefit
from these aminos since getting protein can be difficult on a restricted diet.

There are several ways to get BCAAs in your diet: rye, meat, almonds, cashews, eggs,
fish, chicken, chickpeas, lentils and liver. They can also be found in various supplements
in powder, pill, capsule, liquid, and isotonic form. Each of these has advantages and
disadvantages. Of greatest concern is how the supplements you take are absorbed in the
body every time.

It has been researched and found that the best way to take any supplement is in an
isotonic form. Isotonic means same pressure and refers to the pressure that a liquid
remains at while in your body (e.g. tears, blood, etc). When taken in isotonic form, the
body will absorb up to 98% of supplements. We’ve also found the best source of BCAAs
is in the Isotonix Champion Blend found exclusively at www.shop.com/outofbounds.
